© Reuters. France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.59%
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.59% to hit a new 52-week high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR), which rose 4.02% or 3.88 points to trade at 100.42 at the close. Meanwhile, Faurecia (PA:EPED) added 3.50% or 1.59 points to end at 47.02 and Safran SA (PA:SAF) was up 3.11% or 3.61 points to 119.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Atos SE (PA:ATOS), which fell 12.42% or 8.26 points to trade at 58.26 at the close. Total SA (PA:TOTF) declined 1.70% or 0.68 points to end at 39.10 and Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) was down 1.26% or 0.20 points to 15.25.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which rose 27.58% to 13.83, Soitec SA (PA:SOIT) which was up 4.13% to settle at 181.50 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) which gained 4.02% to close at 100.42.
The worst performers were Atos SE (PA:ATOS) which was down 12.42% to 58.26 in late trade, Technip Energies BV (PA:TE) which lost 3.17% to settle at 12.54 and Total SA (PA:TOTF) which was down 1.70% to 39.10 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 406 to 195 and 65 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.78% or 13.45 to $1729.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.01% or 0.60 to hit $59.76 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.69% or 0.43 to trade at $63.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.37% to 1.1771, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.8515.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 92.960.
